In a joint statement released to the staff at Mercy Medical Center – Centerville, Mercy Des Moines President Karl Keeler and local hospital Board Chairperson Mike Craver announced that Ann Young accepted the position of Interim President for Mercy Medical Center – Centerville.
Young has served as the Vice President, Mercy Experience at Mercy Medical Center – Centerville and assumed the new appointment effective August 16, 2018. In her role as Interim President, she will oversee operations for Mercy Medical Center – Centerville which includes both Hospital and Clinic Operations.
Young joined Mercy - Centerville in 1990. She quickly became involved in a number of leadership roles, serving as the President of the Mercy – Centerville Foundation, Development of the dialysis unit and the transition of the hospital Fitness Center to the YMCA. This is in addition to the multiple clinical, support service and facility departmental responsibilities she currently has. Ms. Young brings proven leadership experience and a collaborative spirit to this new role.
Mercy – Centerville has always functioned as a team leadership model and Sherri Doggett, Vice President of Patient Care Services, will work hand-in-hand with Ann to assure the organization continues to focus on organizational priorities during the interim following Clint Christianson’s retirement.
