Centerville, IA - Physical therapist Brooke Wittry, is the newest member of Mercy’s Rehabilitation Services team. Wittry joins fellow therapists Katy Dykes and Drew Higgins along with therapy assistants Kelly Morrow, Becky Underwood and occupational therapist Melissa Brown in the hospital’s practice.

Wittry received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Des Moines University. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in athletic training from Simpson College. She likes all areas of physical therapy both inpatient and outpatient including pediatrics, geriatrics, neurology, and orthopedics.  Mercy-Centerville allows her the opportunity to work in all areas of practice with different age groups. “I’ve been able to jump in and treat patients from the beginning and the staff has been very supportive,” she commented.

As an athletic trainer she was also attracted to Mercy-Centerville’s Rehab services because they work a lot with student athletes.  “I am also interested in working with Parkinson’s patients and am excited about getting involved with the hospital’s Parkinson’s Support Group,” she said.  The hospital therapists also offer aquatic therapy at the local YMCA and Brooke will provide that service as well.

Growing up in Indianola, Brooke likes the small town lifestyle.  “My family is from southern Iowa so I am very familiar with the area,” she said.  In her spare time she likes to read and water ski.  “I’ve been going to Lake Rathbun since I was a little girl and I’m looking forward to spending time at the lake water skiing,” she added.
