Mercy Life & Fitness Center
Facility

As part of the Mercy Medical Center-Centerville continuum of care,
Mercy owns and manages a community health and fitness center. The facility includes a 5 lane,
25-yard indoor pool with handicap lift, sauna, and hot tub. It also includes a fitness room with both Nautilus and free weight equipment; Life Fitness treadmills with heart rate check capability, recumbent
bicycle, a Schwinn Air dyne, SCIFIT Elliptical, and two stair climbers. The gymnasium includes two baskets with breakaway rims, volleyball court; and individual mats for member use. Locker rooms have both large and small lockers, showers, hair and hand dryers, and entrances from the lobby and the pool.
Services
The Life & Fitness Center offers a towel service and day use of lockers free of charge. Lockers are also available to rent. A lifeguard is on duty during all hours of operation. Membership includes a consultation and fitness program development with a personal trainer. Extended personal trainer services are also available. Call for prices and availability.

Group ExerciseStep Aerobics
Easy-to-follow step moves to increase your heart rate and burn those
calories! Also, includes resistance and core training. Mondays:

Pilates
This mind-body awareness class is a core stability and body balance
workout that increases flexibility, agility, and mobility. Also, a
great way to relieve stress and maintain optimal fitness and
well-being. Tuesdays: 6:00-7:00p.m. Cost: Members—$3.00 per class or
6 for $12.00 Nonmembers—$8.00 per class or 6 for $42.00
Cardio & Core
The cardio ball workout uses the exercise ball to keep you moving,
your heart rate up, and a smile on your face! Also, includes
resistance and core training on the exercise ball. Wednesdays:
5:15-6:15p.m. Cost: Members—FREE Nonmembers—$5.00 per class or 6 for

SilverSneakers® Senior Fitness Program
Muscular Strength & Range of Movement This class is designed to
increase strength, range of movement, agility, balance, and
coordination and to improve participants ’ functional capacities,
physical fitness level, and sense of well-being. Tuesdays/Thursday:
10:30-11:15a.m. (Starting December 5th) Cost: Members—FREE
Nonmembers—$5.00 per class or 6 for $24.00
Aquatic Exercise
Young-at-Heart
This non-impact, lower-intensity class
allows freedom of movement with added resistance from the water.
This class incorporates both shallow and deep water exercises. Some
swimming skills helpful but not required. Tuesdays/Thursdays:
9:00-10:00a.m. Cost: Members—FREE Nonmembers—$5.00 per class or 6
for $24.00
H 2 O Class
A low-impact, medium intensity class in water focusing on
cardiovascular, strength and flexibility exercises. Some swimming
skills helpful but not required. Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays
7:30-8:30a.m. and 9:15-10:15a.m. Cost: Members—FREE Nonmembers—$5.00
per class or 6 for $24.00
Aquacise
This high intensity water class focuses
on cardiovascular improvement. Both shallow and deep water exercises
are included in this workout. Some swimming skills recommended but
not required. Tuesday/Thursday 4:45-5:45p.m. Cost: Members—FREE
Nonmembers—$5.00 per class or 6 for $24.00
Swim Lessons
Private swim lessons are scheduled each summer from June through August. Private lessons are also available throughout the year depending on instructor availability. Call for more information. Group Swim Lessons will begin in mid-May. With levels for everyone from
beginner to advance this is a great alternative to private lessons.
Personal Training
A personal trainer is available to assist you with your fitness needs. Your
long-term membership includes both a
fitness assessment and program design free of charge. Should you feel the need for more assistance, a personal trainer is available for an hourly charge. Call for prices.
Rentals
The facility (except for the fitness room) is available to rent for large or small parties. Table and chairs are available on request and may be set up in the gym. Food and drink is also allowed in certain areas. A flat fee is charged for the first two hours, plus a fee for each additional hour. An additional fee is charged for each hour a lifeguard is needed. Membership
We
have a variety of installment payment plans that you can choose
from at the time of membership application.
Monthly membership fees, with the exception of Medical Memberships
and Trial Memberships, will be automatically withdrawn from a
checking or savings account. Senior
citizens age 60 and over receive approximately a 15% discount.
